Why the cabin heats up
A panoramic glass roof is a big window facing straight up at the midday sun. Even with the factory coating, infrared heat comes through and warms the seats, the dashboard and your head. A heat-rejecting film on the inside of the glass blocks much of that infrared before it reaches the cabin.
What a nano ceramic film does
Nano ceramic films are built to reject infrared heat while staying clear enough to see through. The film we posted for our opening offer rejects 93% to 96% of IR. You keep the open, airy view of the glass roof, with less of the heat.
Is roof film allowed?
The light limits in Singapore cover the front windscreen and front side windows (at least 70% visible light) and the rear windows (at least 25%). Tinted films do not need LTA approval, according to OneMotoring. Ask us which film we recommend for your roof and why.
What we see on Teslas
Teslas are some of the most common cars in our studio, for satin black colour PPF on the Model 3 and colour changes on the Model Y. Owners often add window film at the same visit, so the car comes back both looking new and feeling cooler.
Before you book
- Ask for the IR rejection figure of the exact film, not a range for the brand.
- Ask how they handle the large curved roof glass without seams.
- Check the warranty terms for bubbling and peeling.
Questions
Does Tesla glass roof film reduce heat?
Yes. A heat-rejecting film on the inside of the roof glass blocks much of the infrared heat that would otherwise warm the cabin. Our posted nano ceramic film rejects 93% to 96% of IR.
Can I fit film on both the Model 3 and Model Y roof?
Yes, both have large glass roofs. WhatsApp us your model and year for a quote.
